PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRELY BEFORE BIDDING AND/OR BUYING.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE BIDDING(8-20-24).

Bidding and buying is a simple process! You can register on the website or the 817 Horse Sales app.

WE RECOMMEND DOWNLOADING THE APP TO YOUR IPHONE OR ANDROID - the entire process of bidding and buying is much easier to access. Search for “817 horse sales" in the App Store!

Upon registering to bid, you will be asked for a credit card. WE WILL NOT CHARGE YOUR CARD FOR ANY HORSES THAT YOU WIN IN AN AUCTION. WE DO NOT KEEP THIS CARD ON FILE. THIS IS ONLY USED TO VERIFY YOU ARE A REAL PERSON PLACING BIDS. OUR PLATFORM IS SECURE TO ENTER YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION INTO.

(please note: certain credit cards have shown a charge that is reversed in a relatively short period of time)

PREVIEWING/TRYING HORSES

WE SUGGEST LOOKING AT ANY HORSE YOU PLAN TO PURCHASE IN PERSON BEFORE BIDDING. You may feel free to contact the consignor regarding viewing/riding/trying their horse before the sale at their discretion.

We provide the photos, videos and full veterinary exams to help you make an educated decision on any horse you're bidding on.

HELPFUL ITEMS ABOUT BIDDING IN AN INTERNET AUCTION

PLACING A BID

Click the “Bid” button for the horse that you are interested in.

Next Bid is … indicates what the next bid needs to be in order to get your bid IN. Bidding is set in increment amounts throughout.

If two bidders bid at the same time, the first bid that reaches the internet auction system will be given the amount that was bid. The second bidder will be asked to bid the next available amount.

Click only once to place a bid, your bid will be visible the next time your page refreshes.

MAX BID OR AUTOMATIC BID

When you set a Max Bid the auction software automatically bids on your behalf up to your maximum bid. If the lot ends for less than you’re maximum, that's all you have to pay. You won't have to keep coming back to re-bid every time another bid is placed. Your maximum is kept confidential from other bidders.

The system will only bid up to your maximum amount necessary to maintain you as the high bidder. If another bidder has a higher maximum, you will be outbid. But, if no other bidder has a higher maximum, you will win the lot. You could pay less than your maximum price!

PLEASE Review your Bid BEFORE you click the BID button.

Using the single Bid button will not be as quick as using the Automatic Bid.

Due to slow internet connections, we cannot guarantee last second bids will get through every time, so please don't wait when bidding one bid at a time. We suggest utilizing the automatic/max bid button to ensure your bids are accepted.

Payment Process

If you are the WINNING BID!

After the sale has concluded you will receive a sale statement from 817 Horse Sales (usually that evening or early the following morning). This email will include the following.

Horse information and sale price
Payment Information with wiring instructions. Payments should be received within 3 days.
Request for detailed AQHA transfer information to be emailed to 817horsesales@gmail.com.

Once payment is received we will confirm with you that it has been received and the consignor will be notified that the horse has been paid for and can be released to the buyer. NOTE: All contact information for the agent/seller is on the horse's sale page. Sales moves to results page once complete.

Horse Pickup & Transport

The BUYER is responsible for lining up transportation for any horses purchased. We can recommend haulers if needed after the sale. Most of the time, horses can stay at the sellers place for 10 days board-free after the sale. The daily board charge after the 10 days varies among consignors, please contact them before you bid.

If a HEALTH CERTIFICATE is needed it is the BUYER who pays for the certificate. Contact the consignor and let them know as soon as possible that the horse will need one. Consignors can usually help with setting this up or getting you in contact with their local vet clinic. NOTE: IF asking the seller for help with the health certificate please give them all necessary information needed and enough time to obtain the paperwork.

The consignor will have a copy of the horse’s current coggins for you or the hauler when the horse is picked up.
